Confused between DTH and Digital Cable TV - Which one to buy

FEW CHOICES :
·      SUN DIRECT
·      ZEE DISH TV
·      TATA SKY
·      RELIANCE BIG TV
·      AIRTEL DIGITAL TV

(DON’T WORRY  J ) THINGS TO CONSIDER:-
      · More expensive in short and long term
      · Initial/starting payment, which includes charges for
          1) STB box
          2) Dish
          3) Sometimes subscription for 6-12 months
     · DTH providers in INDIA are offering STB boxes, this implies that you cannot use  Dish to
         STB box with any another i.e. with Reliance big TV connection card.
     · No return policy, you will be stuck with the box and dish if u decide to discontinue this service            in future.

           · One DTH –One TV; if u want to connect Multiple Tv’s -maintain a separate account for each.

           · Service providers in India offer Child connection, so that when you take a second TV set                you’ll  get that at a discounted price.

         

FEW PROBLEMS:-

     ·       Problem arises when you want (one package - one TV )and (other package – other     TV)

     ·       In One package – difficult to find all channels u want

     ·       If u want access to one channel, you should sometimes pay for multiple channels

     ·       Some companies do not have an option to get all channels available in the market

     ·       When any channel decides to raise its price, DTH provider removes channel from the                     package to charge additional fee.

OTHER FACTORS TO BE CONSIDRED WHEN COMPARED WITH THE OLD CABLE GUY:-

· He made things easier by dealing with medium companies

· You tend to get better value for money when compared to DTH

DISADVANTAGES OF CABLE GUY

Cable guy sometimes drives the customer crazy as he is evil maniac even when it’s clear that the customer would end up discarding him and instead opts for a DTH connection

WE SHOULD HOPE THAT:-

· Cable industry wakes up and realize that it will lose its customers if the same lousy       service is provided

· TRAI wakes up so that it makes DTH companies to offer a better value and product     to its customers

· We should have access to an open STB which works with any connection and should   only pay for the channels we like· We should have satisfaction which is basically missing these days.· DTH providers must ensure that customer should be treated as a king in the market.
